Yoenis Cespedes was fashionably late for Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday.
The New York Mets slugger was announced to the field in the cleanup spot during pregame introductions for his team, but was noticeably absent.

Cespedes did manage to show up for the national anthem though, so there was no concern about him actually playing in the contest.

Cespedes got off to a rough start, making a halfhearted attempt in center on an Alcides Escobar fly ball, which allowed the Royals shortstop to fly around the bases for an inside-the-park home run.
