DFS: Thursday's Point Guard Value Rankings
Here are theScore's point guard value rankings for Thursday, November 5:
Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C
# | Name | Opponent | Risk |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Ricky Rubio (MIN) | vs. MIA | Low |
2 | Damian Lillard (POR) | vs. MEM | Low |
3 | Russell Westbrook (OKC) | at CHI | Low |
4 | Kemba Walker (CHA) | at DAL | Low |
5 | Goran Dragic (MIA) | at MIN | Medium |
Westbrook is the best point guard on Thursday's slate, but he's far and away the most expensive. He will put up points, though, and can alleviate a lot of stress because slotting him in your lineup is as good a guarantee as you can hope for. Lillard is the best player on a bad team and should return value.
Rubio is fitting in nicely on the cusp of elite. He dishes the ball to his teammates with precision and is capable of draining buckets in his own right - though he can't be counted on to produce 28 points like he did on opening night. He might not be found at a discount much longer.
# | Name | Opponent | Risk |
---|---|---|---|
6 | C.J. McCollum (POR) | vs. MEM | Medium |
7 | Derrick Rose (CHI) | vs. OKC | High |
8 | Mike Conley (MEM) | at POR | High |
9 | Emmanuel Mudiay (DEN) | vs. UTA | High |
10 | Trey Burke (UTA) | at DEN | High |
McCollum comes at a lower price than his teammate Lillard, but has a lower ceiling and floor. He still appears to be primed as a top breakout candidate - starting at SG though listed as a PG in DFS - but he is a bit one-dimensional. After one game, he looked like a 3-point specialist draining six from beyond the arc. In three games since, he only has five total.
Rose and Conley have not been fantasy mavens in the early going, though Rose appears to be healthy so DFSers should be patient. Mudiay faces his toughest task yet against the Utah's elite defense. Burke is getting better after an invisible opening night and is a nice, cheap, high-risk flier in GPPs.
