Football world shows support for Paris in wake of attacks
The football world has come together in the wake of the devastating attacks that engulfed Paris on Friday evening and resulted in the deaths of at least 129 people - and the hospitalization of over 300 more - after a series of suicide bombings and shootings in the French capital.

Using the hashtag #PrayForParis, throngs of footballers - current and former - and clubs came together on various social media platforms to express their condolences for people who lost loved ones, and to stand alongside France in the country's period of mourning.

UEFA announced Saturday that each team involved in this week's play-offs for Euro 2016, which is set to be hosted by France next summer, will show their respect for those killed with black armbands.

Italy's second division, Serie B, announced the French national anthem will be played ahead of every match this weekend.
"A minute of silence before all games in Week 13," a statement from the Lega Serie B confirmed. "When the teams come out, 'La Marseillaise' (the French national anthem) will be played, with the French flag open at the centre-circle."
