DFS: Wednesday's Center Value Rankings

Nelson Chenault / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's center value rankings for Wednesday, November 18.

Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Dwight Howard (HOU) vs. POR 9
Al Horford (ATL) vs. SAC 8
Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN) at ORL 8
Jahlil Okafor (PHI) vs. IND 8
Al Jefferson (CHA) vs. BKN 7

Unlike the other positions, DFS providers seem to be unclear about who the top dog is at center right now. The top tier of players are all listed within a stone's throw from each other in terms of salary. Simply, a rested Howard against a thin Trail Blazers' post defense presents the best value when peers such as Horford, Towns and Okafor all cost roughly the same.

Best of the Rest

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Enes Kanter (OKC) vs. NOP 7
Brook Lopez (BKN) at CHA 7
Nikola Vucevic (ORL) vs. MIN 6
Pau Gasol (CHI) at PHX 6

With Anthony Davis leaving in the middle of Tuesday's game with a shoulder injury, it would be surprising if he played the Wednesday in Oklahoma City. With Kevin Durant injured, that means more post touches for the Thunder's Kanter. While his defensive deficiencies are well-noted he could be in line for heavier minutes with a chance to excel.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Rudy Gobert (UTA) vs. TOR 7
Jared Sullinger (BOS) vs. DAL 6
Zaza Pachulia (DAL) at BOS 6
Tim Duncan (SA) vs. DEN 5
Mason Plumlee (POR) at SA 5
Tyson Chandler (PHX) vs. CHI 5
Kosta Koufos (SAC) at ATL 4
Clint Capela (HOU) vs. POR 4

This group of players struggle to create scoring opportunities for themselves so the bulk of their DFS value comes from accumulating double-doubles - and the fantasy point bonuses they bring. Gobert and Jazz PF Derrick Favors will go up against the Raptors' Jonas Valanciunas and Luis Scola, fresh off the latter pair's Tuesday night game against Golden State.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Clint Capela (HOU) vs. POR 4
Kelly Olynyk (BOS) vs. DAL 4
Steven Adams (OKC) vs. NOP 3
Omer Asik (NOP) at OKC 3
Joakim Noah (CHI) at PHX 2
Ian Mahinmi (IND) at PHI 2
Willie Caule-Stein (SAC) at ATL 2
Jonas Valanciunas (TOR) at UTA 1

Valanciunas should be faded against Gobert's presence in the paint. Two straight road games against tough defenses is a lot of pressure on Toronto's pivot and given the glut of capable centers at or near the same price, there's no reason to take a gamble on Valanciunas.
