DFS: Wednesday's Shooting Guard Value Rankings

Jaime Valdez-USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's shooting guard value rankings for Wednesday, November 18:

Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C

Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
C.J. McCollum (POR) at HOU 8
Andrew Wiggins (MIN) at ORL 8
Monta Ellis (IND) at PHI 8

Some of the best perimeter defenders are playing Wednesday, meaning some of the best value SGs are cheaper options with lower stakes to match. McCollum is a player to watch.

Damian Lillard (deservedly) gets a lot of the praise for carrying Portland's offense but McCollum has emerged as a true No. 2; he hasn't scored fewer than 15 points in a game this season, and that trend likely will continue against Houston.

Best of the Rest

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
James Harden (HOU) vs. POR 7
Jimmy Butler (CHI) at PHX 7
Eric Bledsoe (PHX) vs. CHI 6
Jeremy Lamb (CHA) vs. BKN 6
Eric Gordon (NOP) at OKC 5
Avery Bradley (BOS) vs. DAL 5
Will Barton (DEN) at SA 5

Harden has the highest ceiling at this position in the NBA but Houston's immense struggles paired with his high DFS salary makes him a fade candidate against a mid-tier defense.

Butler versus Bledsoe will be a lot of fun, with both players being among the most athletic, intense players in the league. Beware: neither the Suns nor the Bulls have given up high DFS point totals to opposing SGs this season.

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Dion Waiters (OKC) vs. NOP 7
Alec Burks (UTA) vs. TOR 6
Danny Green (SA) vs. DEN 5
Kevin Martin (MIN) at ORL 5
Kyle Korver (ATL) vs. SAC 5
Wes Matthews (DAL) at BOS 4

This group of players should be considered as GPP plays or cheap roster filler only. Each of these SGs has shown an ability to score from long-range but with limited contribution in other categories, if they struggle to shoot the ball, they'll end up with awful results in fantasy.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
DeMar DeRozan (TOR) at UTA 4
Victor Oladipo (ORL) vs. MIN 4
Evan Turner (BOS) vs. DAL 3
Nik Stauskas (PHI) vs. IND 2
Manu Ginobili (SA) vs. DEN 2

DeRozan's scoring has always been his top ability but the main knock against the long-time Raptor is that he's never shown a deft touch from 3-point territory. That's going to be an issue against the crippling interior defense of the Jazz, led by Rudy Gobert's incredible reach and verticality. For his high DFS salary, DeRozan needs to be avoided Wednesday.
