Nazem Kadri finally got the monkey off his back, collecting his second goal of the 2015-16 season.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forward scored his first marker in 16 games late in the third period Friday to help his club reach the extra period against a stingy Carolina Hurricanes team.
It was Kadri's first goal since scoring in the team's fourth game on Oct. 16 versus the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The 25-year-old fired 83 shots toward opposing nets before notching the marker.
The Maple Leafs went on to prevail in the shootout 2-1 on a winner by Joffrey Lupul and another incredible outing by goaltender James Reimer, who stopped 33 of 34 shots.
