VIDEOS: Lakers give up trying to defend Steph Curry in transition

It was a safe bet that the unbeaten Golden State Warriors would ultimately overwhelm the frequently beaten Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.

But it also seemed reasonable to expect that the Lakers - who handed the Warriors one of just 15 regular-season losses last year - would at least put forth a valiant effort, given the chance to prevent Golden State from setting an NBA record with a 16th straight win to open the season.

But any belief or will they may have possessed seemed to evaporate in the game's opening moments, as Steph Curry dropped a desperate Jordan Clarkson (with a little help from a screening Draymond Green) with a behind-the-back crossover on the break.

After seeing that, Lou Williams wanted absolutely no part of Curry in transition. As the reigning MVP raced past midcourt, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year stood in a defensive stance on the 3-point line, seemingly positioned to impede Curry's progress to the rim.

But yeah, no, he didn't do that at all.
