Report: Phil Neville, Salvador Gonzalez take temporary charge of Valencia
Following the resignation of Nuno Espirito Santo on Sunday, Valencia has turned to coaches Phil Neville and Salvador Gonzalez, known as Voro, to take control of first-team duties until further notice, according to the Guardian.
Nuno announced his departure following a 1-0 loss at Sevilla, but revealed his decision was made before kickoff.
"Before the game I spoke with the president, with the owner, Peter Lim, and we have spoke after the game. We are all in agreement that the situation is not good, we all want to do the best for the club," Nuno told reporters.
"It's for that reason that I have taken the decision to leave the club. It's been an honour to coach the club. I want to thank all the players I have worked with, Peter Lim and the fans."
A formal statement from the club is expected on Monday, with former Manchester United full-back Neville and ex-Los Che centre-half Voro taking training earlier in the day.
