Monday's Point Guard Value Rankings

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's point guard value rankings for Monday, December 14's 10-game slate:

Value Rankings

PG | SG | SF | PF | C

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Jameer Nelson (DEN) vs. HOU 10
Damian Lillard (POR) vs. NO 9
John Wall (WAS) at MEM 8
Kyle Lowry (TOR) at IND 8
Brandon Knight (PHX) at DAL 8

Emmanuel Mudiay has been ruled out with an ankle injury, so Nelson will draw the start in a fast-paced encounter with Houston. In replacing Mudiay five minutes into Friday's win over Minnesota, Nelson notched 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

Wall has scored at least 26 points in each of his last four games to accompany his typically strong assist, rebound and steal totals, and will be leaned on even more with Bradley Beal (stress fracture) out. Knight is averaging 20.5 points yet was held to just one point on Friday, ultimately salvaging his fantasy night with 10 assists and five rebounds.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
Jarrett Jack (BKN) vs. ORL 7
Mike Conley (MEM) vs. WAS 7
Reggie Jackson (DET) vs. LAC 7
Raymond Felton (DAL) vs. PHX 7
Jeff Teague (ATL) vs. MIA 7
Elfrid Payton (ORL) at BKN 7
George Hill (IND) vs. TOR 7
Trey Burke (UTA) at SA 7
Cory Joseph (TOR) at IND 6
Mario Chalmers (MEM) vs. WAS 6
Derrick Rose (CHI) vs. PHI 6
Chris Paul (LAC) at DET 6

Jack has slightly more value than usual due to his backup, Shane Larkin, being questionable to play with an eye injury. Likewise, Felton's price has risen significantly from its initial backup level due to some strong performances, but his value depends on starter Deron Williams (illness) being out again.

Burke has made at least two 3-pointers in each of his last four games and offers much more scoring punch than starter Raul Neto. Despite a great matchup, Rose generally doesn't provide enough assists or rebounds to compensate for when his shot isn't falling - and at 36.4 per cent for the season, it rarely has been.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Ramon Sessions (WAS) at MEM 5
Goran Dragic (MIA) at ATL 5
Tony Parker (SA) vs. UTA 5
Jrue Holiday (NO) at POR 5
Dennis Schroder (ATL) vs. MIA 4
Deron Williams (DAL) vs. PHO 4
T.J. McConnell (PHI) at CHI 4
Norris Cole (NO) at POR 4
Ish Smith (NO) at POR 3

Dragic doesn't have the ball in his hands enough to return significant value - perhaps he'll emerge if and when Dwyane Wade suffers an injury. Both the 76ers and Pelicans have several point guards vying for time amidst injuries and minutes restrictions - it's tough to determine who will play the most on a given night.
