Blake Griffin out at least 2 weeks with torn left quadriceps tendon
Los Angeles Clippers All-Star power forward Blake Griffin will be out of action for at least the next two weeks with a partially torn left quad tendon, the team announced Saturday.
He will be re-evaluated by the team at that time.
The injury occurred on a drive to the basket during the first quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day.
Griffin did not travel with the team to Utah for Saturday's game against the Jazz, and is expected to miss the remainder of the team's ongoing five-game road trip.
The 26-year-old played 36 minutes against the Lakers in a 94-84 win, finishing with a double-double of 13 points and 12 assists on 6-of-16 shooting.
Griffin has played all 30 games for the 17-13 Clippers this season, leading the team in scoring with 23.2 points, which also ranks 10th in the Association. He's also third in Western Conference All-Star frontcourt voting with 182,107 votes.
