Jimmy Butler calls out Fred Hoiberg following blowout loss to Knicks

After sustaining a devastating four-overtime loss to the Detroit Pistons the previous night, the Chicago Bulls simply did not have the energy to hang with the New York Knicks on Saturday.

Despite being both exhausted and undermanned, Jimmy Butler was not impressed with the team's effort in the 107-91 loss and called out his own coach, Fred Hoiberg, for not being tough enough on the Bulls.

"I believe in the guys in this locker room, yeah," Butler said to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun Times. "But I also believe that we probably have to be coached a lot harder at times. I'm sorry, I know that Fred's a laid-back guy, and I really respect him for that. But when guys aren't doing what they're supposed to do, you gotta get on guys, myself included."

The Bulls still sit fifth in the Eastern Conference at 15-10, but a lot of the team's success can be attributed to Butler, as the 26-year-old leads the team in minutes per game (37.7), points per game (21.8), steals per game (1.83), and free-throws made per game (6.4). He is also often tasked with covering the other team's best wing player, such as Saturday where he was matched up with the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony.

"It's on everybody. But I just think when it's coming from (Hoiberg) it's a lot different. It's different when a player is telling another player, and a coach is telling a player. I know it's really not in him like that, but I think at times that's what we need."
