Report: Knicks' Williams robbed of $750K in jewelry
New York Knicks forward Derrick Williams had $750,000 worth of jewelry stolen from his Broadway apartment Saturday, according to the New York Post's Larry Celona and Joe Tacopino.
Williams, who signed a two-year, $8.8-million contract with the franchise over the offseason, was robbed of jewelry from his Louis Vuitton case by two women he brought home from the Up & Down club Friday night, according to local law enforcement.
The 24-year-old's teammates celebrated their 107-97 win over the Philadelphia 76ers with him. After they left, the women - who reportedly used fake names - raided Williams' box before exiting.
"I don't want to talk about it," he said following the Knicks victory over the Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. "It's still up in the air."
Police are reportedly looking into whether the robbery is part of a string of recent thefts performed by young women who seek out wealthy men at nightclubs in the area.
Williams has posted pictures of his bling on his Instagram account in the past, including one featuring what appears to be a Louis Vuitton case:
