Report: Jeff Hornacek's job 'under immediate threat'
Jeff Hornacek's job with the Phoenix Suns is "under immediate threat" after a 5-15 stretch, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
The Suns' struggles were accentuated Saturday night, when the team fell to the Philadelphia 76ers - a team with just one win entering the contest. To make matters worse, Phoenix lost Eric Bledsoe to a knee injury, and is reportedly out for an extended time.
Hornacek has struggled to gain the respect of his players throughout his tenure, even having a towel thrown at him by volatile power forward Markieff Morris earlier in the week.
Despite being the runner-up for the NBA Coach of the Year Award in 2013-14, Hornacek has yet to lead the Suns to the postseason. The third-year head coach has a career 99-97 record and has seen his winning percentage drop over the last two years.
The Suns (12-20) sit 11th in the Western Conference, but are just a game out of 14th after losing their last four games. With games against the Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, and Oklahoma City Thunder coming up, Hornacek will face a tough task in front of him if he hopes to keep his job.
