Gaudreau, Niemi, Bozak named 3 stars of the week
Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau, Dallas Stars goaltender Antti Niemi, and Toronto Maple Leafs forward Tyler Bozak have been named the NHL's three stars of the week.
Gaudreau claimed first star honors after leading the league with five goals in two games. He collected his third career hat trick and second of the month in the Flames' 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Dec. 22.

Niemi claimed the second star after boasting a 2-0-1 record with an impressive 1.02 goals-against average and a sizzling .966 save percentage, helping to propel the Stars back into first place in the NHL standings. His week was highlighted by his 35th career shutout, a 4-0 blanking of his former team, the Chicago Blackhawks.
Bozak was named third star after finishing second during the week with four goals and five points in three games. The 29-year-old collected his second career hat trick during the Maple Leafs' 7-4 pounding of the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 21. He now sits second in team scoring with 24 points in 30 games, and has five goals and 10 points over his last eight contests.
