The Florida Panthers had a December to remember.
The Atlantic Division leaders put together the best month in franchise history, going 11-3-0 and closing out December on a franchise record-tying seven-game win streak.
The Panthers collected a league-best 22 points in the month and leapfrogged the Montreal Canadiens for top spot in the division with a 3-1 victory at the BB&T Center on Tuesday night.
Aleksander Barkov notched 13 points in 14 games, and goaltender Roberto Luongo went 8-3-0 with a 1.80 GAA and a save percentage of .929.
Florida has the second-best record (21-12-4) in the Eastern Conference after starting December in 11th place.
