Montreal Canadiens forward David Desharnais batted the puck in out of midair for the first goal of the Winter Classic just 74 seconds into Friday's game.
Desharnais breaks a 17-game goalless drought with the tally.
That's David Desharnais' first goal since Nov. 22, the day Brendan Gallagher got injured. Maybe he actually is that important.

The 29-year-old has eight goals and 12 assists in 40 games this season.
