The striker was on loan with Bristol City earlier this campaign but had his deal cut short by parent club Aston Villa due to a lack of first team opportunities. His return to Preston comes after he helped it secure promotion from League One last season.
The Villains are keen on their 20-year-old academy graduate gaining valuable experience at a higher level for the rest of this term, but Robinson's first return to action could be the FA Cup third round trip to Peterborough on Saturday.
