- New year, new champ. Although Holly Holm enters 2016 with a fresh slate of potential challengers itching for a chance to touch gold, "The Preacher's Daughter" will likely have to prove her mettle once again against the former world destroyer known as Ronda Rousey. Although nothing is official as of yet, the promotion is reportedly targeting UFC 200 in July for a potential Holm-Rousey rematch.
- Sure, she's willing to wait for a big-money Rousey rematch, but Holm would rather stay active and take another fight in the meantime. That's where Miesha Tate comes in. Snubbed for a trilogy bout with Rousey after an initial promise of a title shot, Tate continues to loudly voice her displeasure with the UFC's modus operandi regarding championship opportunities. Should Holm demand a fight before Rousey, Tate should be at the front of the line.
- Valentina Shevchenko made a huge splash in her recent UFC debut, outworking seasoned veteran Sarah Kaufman for the better part of 15 minutes en route to a split decision victory. A winner of five straight, Shevchenko could burst into the division's top five by the end of 2016.
