- Nursing a surgically repaired right hand, Joanna Jedrzejczyk's eventual next title defense will likely come against Brazilian buzzsaw Claudia Gadelha. Gadelha and Jedrzejczyk met before at UFC on FOX 13, with "Joanna Champion" walking away with the controversial split decision victory.
- Karolina Kowalkiewicz made her promotional debut at UFC on FOX 17, besting the leather-tough Randa Markos via clear-cut unanimous decision. It wasn't a division-quaking performance that put Jedrzejczyk on notice, but it's certainly a step in the right direction for the champion's Polish compatriot.
- Rose Namajunas burst into the top 10 with a one-sided shellacking of Paige VanZant at UFC Fight Night 80 in December. "Thug Rose" decimated the impossibly tough VanZant for nearly four-and-a-half rounds before mercifully polishing "12 Gauge" off with a slick armbar.
- Tecia Torres just keeps winning. Aside from a disappointing run on "The Ultimate Fighter," Torres has a spotless professional record, and could be poised for a title shot in 2016. "The Tiny Tornado" is 3-0 in the UFC, racking up consecutive decision victories over Angela Magana, Angela Hill, and Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger.
