Ranking the 5 craziest moments from Cardinals-Packers
The Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers played one of the most entertaining games in recent NFL history on Saturday.
There were multiple Hail Mary passes, a botched coin flip, and a 32-year-old future Hall of Famer turning back the clock to 2008 and willing his team to victory.
And all of that happened with less than two minutes left in regulation.
Here are the five craziest moments from this instant classic:
5. 100-yard pick-6 nullified, Arians reacts
Before things really got wild, there were several plays called back because of penalties. After Randall Cobb bruised his lung on a negated one-handed masterpiece, Patrick Peterson had a 100-yard pick-6 called back.
His head coach's reaction to the call will stand the test of time.
4. Botched coin flip
Scientists have yet to explain the phenomenon that allowed this coin to stay eerily still directly following one of the most improbable drives in football history.
It will probably have some rational explanation like the "Glondorse Principle" or something, but right now, physicists need to look into it. Get on this, nerds.
3. Tipped touchdown
Carson Palmer was playing his way into the ground before luck changed his way. After narrowly avoiding multiple interceptions, Palmer threw what looked like another would-be pick.
The ball bounced the Cardinals' way in the fourth quarter, though, with a fortuitous carom to wide receiver Michael Floyd in the end zone. The football gods saved Palmer from an offseason of sports-talk-radio bashing and the Cardinals were on their way to a safe win.
2. Larry Fitzgerald loves overtime
Alright, your team just gave away a seven-point lead with no time left on the clock in regulation, so what do you do?
If you're Larry Fitzgerald, you take a short pass and weave through the entire Packers defense for a 75-yard gain to set yourself up for a short touchdown pass. Fitzgerald is the greatest playoff receiver in NFL history.
1. Another Hail Mary by Aaron Rodgers
What will be overlooked in all of this is Jeff Janis' prayer 60-yard catch earlier in the drive with the Packers on their own 4-yard line. And it should be overlooked because Aaron Rodgers completed his second Hail Mary of the season with :00 on the clock, sending the game to overtime.
