Panthers' Davis says he won't miss Super Bowl despite broken arm
Despite suffering a broken arm during the NFC Championship Game, Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis said afterward there's no way he's missing Super Bowl 50.
Davis told reporters his initial injury diagnosis postgame, but insisted he wouldn't let it affect him.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera also said Davis told him he'd be ready for Super Bowl 50.
The Panthers star, who's incurred multiple ACL injuries during his 11-year career, has missed the playoffs six times, and isn't letting anything get in the way of his first Super Bowl appearance.
"I wouldn't miss the Super Bowl for the world," Davis told reporters postgame.
The Pro Bowl linebacker was seen with his right arm in a cast and did not play during the second half against the Cardinals. Davis certainly made an impact in the game, however, leveling David Johnson on a tackle for loss.
In the midst of the best season of his career, Davis is one part of the NFL's most formidable inside linebacker duo alongside Luke Kuechly.
Davis' status is worth monitoring over the next two weeks, but it seems unlikely that he'd sit out of the biggest game of his career.
