Shakhtar Donetsk star attacker Alex Teixeira is unhappy with the lack of movement in transfer negotiations as his side supposedly turned down a massive bid from Premier League outfit Liverpool.
Teixeira bemoaned the declined bid, revealing his desire to join Jurgen Klopp at Anfield by the end of the month.
"The team received one official offer from Liverpool. It was rejected, I don't know why," Alex Teixeira told Stefano Fusaro from NBC. "There's only been one offer (of) €32 million and Shakhtar rejected it. I know my agent is still attempting everything possible to help get me to Liverpool.
"It was a great offer. It's frustrating. But the manager and club president decided against it, so now I'm just waiting, trying to be patient."
Teixeira is a highly touted player and as such, Shakhtar manager Mirceu Lucescu is reportedly holding out for a much higher bid of around €50 million.
Still, financial details aside, Teixeira can't help but yearn for a move to the Premier League.
"I want to be at Liverpool, but that is up to the club president now. I can only hope. I don't know what else to say," Teixeira said, of his future away from Donetsk. "Every time I'm asked the question, I always say the Premier League. For me, it's the best league in the world. I believe in myself and I feel that would be the best move for my career.
"(Liverpool) is a huge club. So many great players have passed through there. It would be an honour to defend the Liverpool shirt."
