Carmelo ruled out vs. Grizzlies with sore left knee
Victories have been hard to come by lately for the struggling New York Knicks, with the team having lost three straight and seven of its last eight.
And the Knicks will be in tough again Friday when they host the Memphis Grizzlies at Madison Square Garden, as All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony will sit out with a sore left knee.
Head coach Derek Fisher said Friday evening that Anthony underwent an MRI on his knee which revealed no structural damage. He's currently listed as day to day, according to Newsday's Al Iannazzone.
There are also no plans to shut down Anthony prior to the All-Star break, with New York scheduled to play two more games (against the Nuggets and Wizards) before the festivities get underway.
Anthony underwent surgery on his knee in February of last year, costing him the entire second half of the 2014-15 season.
He's currently averaging 21.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on 42.4 percent shooting in his fifth full season with the franchise.
