Report: DeAndre Jordan interviewed by league officials about Blake Griffin fight
Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan and assistant athletic trainer Joe Resendez were questioned by league officials on Wednesday, Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Jordan and Resendez accompanied Clippers equipment manager Matias Testi and power forward Blake Griffin at a restaurant in Toronto over the weekend when a fight broke out between the two friends.
"It's a tough situation," Jordan said. "Two guys that I'm super close with and it's sticky, man. It's tough."
As told by Bolch, Testi and Griffin exchanged some friendly banter that eventually became heated. The two had a confrontation inside the restaurant before the fight spilled outside.
Griffin reportedly threw several punches at Testi, which left Griffin with a fractured hand and Testi with a severely swollen face. Local police arrived on the scene but no report was filed, according to a media relations officer with the Toronto Police Service.
The Clippers would go on to lose Sunday's game in Toronto, before rebounding with a pair of two-point wins over Indiana and Atlanta.
Griffin, who's expected to miss four-to-six weeks on account of his hand, apologized for his actions on Tuesday. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers added that both Griffin and Testi will be welcomed back with open arms once they heal up.
"Everybody will be back," Rivers said. "We're a team and we're still a team and Blake's part of our team and he's going to remain part of our team and we have to support him and support everybody. It's not just the players. ... Everyone is part of our team that's in our travel group."
