Report: Kings considering firing George Karl
The Sacramento Kings are strongly considering firing head coach George Karl in the wake of Friday night's 128-119 loss to the lowly Brooklyn Nets, sources told Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Karl has quickly lost the support of team management and some players, reports Wojnarowski.
"I'm not going to keep blaming these guys in the locker room," franchise player DeMarcus Cousins told reporters after Friday's loss. "We got a bigger issue, and we need to figure it out as a team."
A bubble playoff team in the Western Conference, the Kings have lost six of their last seven games to drop to 21-29 going into Sunday's game against the Boston Celtics.
Karl took over the Kings last season after a fiasco that saw owner Vivek Ranadive fire coach Michael Malone and longtime general manager Pete D'Alessandro. He sits in fifth place all time in NBA coaching wins with 1,156 - 47 behind Pat Riley.
