Durant roasts Jackson's 'bush league' antics: 'Who cares about Detroit?'
Cross Detroit off Kevin Durant's summer wish list, and forget the idea of Reggie Jackson playing lead recruiter for his former teammate.
Jackson and the Pistons were never actually seen as legitimate suitors for Durant, of course, and that was before the seven-time All-Star ripped into player and city Thursday.
"It was bush league, in my opinion," Durant said of Jackson's celebrations after beating his former team, when he skipped down the court while imploring the home crowd to make more noise. "Jumping up and down, running around. I understand you helped them win the game, but our whole team didn't play. We would've beat the hell out of them if we did."
Added Durant, "I know I don't talk like that. But it pisses me off. What can I do about it? Some guys are who they are. They won the game. Congrats."
Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams also took exception to Jackson's celebration of the Pistons' win, which came with Durant and Serge Ibaka sitting on the bench.
"I wanted to play against Detroit, for sure, but you know, it's Detroit," Durant added of Jackson's new home. "Who cares about Detroit?"
Jackson spent the first three-and-a-half seasons of his career as a reserve in Oklahoma City before requesting a trade prior to last season's deadline in search of a starting role - one he found and has thrived in for the Pistons, who are clinging to one of the Eastern Conference's final two playoff spots.
