David Ortiz is asking for a favor in enemy territory.

The Boston Red Sox slugger is preparing for his 20th and final season in the majors and would love nothing more than to receive some love from a fan base he helped torment for more than a decade.

"You know what I want most of all? I would love it if the fans at Yankee Stadium gave me a standing ovation," Ortiz told Kevin Kernan of the New York Post.

Ortiz has crushed 28 career home runs at Yankee Stadium (new and old), the third-most of any visiting ballpark. His two-out, two-run home run in the first inning of Game 7 of the ALCS being arguably the biggest he hit in the Bronx in his career.

The two sides have learned to play nice in the past. The Red Sox and Ortiz honored former Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter with a pregame ceremony at Fenway Park during his last game in 2014. Jeter even received a standing ovation after collecting the 3,465th and final hit of his career.

"For them to flip the script this last time coming here, it made me feel extremely proud that I was part of this rivalry," Jeter told reporters following his final game.

Ortiz plays his final regular season game at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 29.
