Aston Villa was already the butt of Premier League jokes for sitting rock bottom of the table, with relegation a near certainty. Now, defender Joleon Lescott has joined his club in becoming the object of online ridicule.
Lescott was scorned a fortnight ago for a tweet picturing a luxury automobile moments after Villa's 6-0 capitulation at the hands of Liverpool. The former Manchester City centre-half conceded that it was a "pocket tweet."
Following two weeks of mockery attached to Lescott's every move, Stoke City's Twitter account finally decided to get in on the action Saturday while the two sides played at the Brittania Stadium.
Apologies for that tweet, it was sent from our pocket ;-)
