LeBron's been so good for so long, it's become easy to overlook how great he still is. The regular season's become somewhat of an afterthought for him, but when he does bring his all to the court, he's a player capable of impacting every phase of the game. He makes the game look easy, showing off so many different ways of beating opponents on offense, while being capable of shutting down multiple positions on defense. LeBron single-handedly stole two games from the Warriors in the 2015 NBA Finals, carrying a cast of misfits to his fifth consecutive Finals appearance. That level of team success LeBron's been able to find is what really separates him from his peers.
Kevin Durant is the NBA's best small forward
Durant just has to step onto the court and a monster stat line will follow. He's the unquestioned best pure scorer at his position, and has quickly erased offseason questions about his health and durability, bringing his game back to the elite level that saw him claim the NBA MVP award for the 2013-14 season. Capable of scoring from anywhere on the court with a butter stroke, Durant's become more aggressive on the glass, on track to set a new career high in rebounds. He'll have a chance to write his own ticket as a free agent this upcoming offseason, affording himself an opportunity to catch LeBron in the wins column.
