VIDEO: LeBron spends off days in Miami working out with Wade
Just when you thought the Cleveland Cavaliers could end the off-court distractions and get on with the stretch run of the NBA season, a video emerged of LeBron James spending his off days in Miami, and working out with former Heat teammate Dwyane Wade.
The Cavs are fortunate enough to be in the midst of a four-day break between games. Rules governed by the collective bargaining agreement prohibit a team from holding a practice the day after a back-to-back - which Cleveland split Sunday and Monday - and without training time scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday, James took his talents to South Beach.
Wade threw cold water on the predictable tongue-wagging that followed, telling Heat reporters Wednesday that he was just catching up with "one of my best friends."
"It's not hard for me to work out with someone that I've been working out with for 13 years," Wade added.
There is likely very little to this, given the Cavaliers' week off, but it's understandable that James and company remain under the microscope despite the historical pursuits of the Golden State Warriors. Last season, he spent a good portion of his eight-game sabbatical rehabbing in Miami. This came only days after a media storm brewed over comments he supposedly made to Wade in his return game against the Heat.
