Monday's Point Guard Value Rankings

Jennifer Stewart / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's point guard value rankings for Monday, March 21:

Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Brandon Knight (PHX) vs. MEM 10
Stephen Curry (GS) at MIN 9
Isaiah Thomas (BOS) vs. ORL 8
Ish Smith (PHI) at IND 8
Jeff Teague (ATL) vs. WAS 8

Knight offers the best upside relative to salary on Monday's nine-game slate. The Grizzlies are in shambles and offer him a golden opportunity to return top value. Curry is likely to rebound after a mediocre showing in San Antonio. He shredded Minnesota for eight 3-pointers back in November.

Smith and Teague are excellent secondary options at lower salaries. Smith might have the slight edge because he is consistently getting more floor time than Teague.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
John Wall (WAS) at ATL 7
Reggie Jackson (DET) vs. MIL 7
Derrick Rose (CHI) vs. SAC 7
Kemba Walker (CHA) vs. SA 6
Kyrie Irving (CLE) vs. DEN 6

Wall and Walker are elite point scorers in less than ideal matchups. Wall's upside is higher than Walker's, and he's been able to overcome unfavorable matchups recently. He's worth a contrarian roster spot in a GPP.

Irving's minutes are up, but he's not returning value with enough consistency to warrant a more confident endorsement. The matchup is in his favor, though.

Name Opponent Value
D.J. Augustin (DEN) at CLE 6
George Hill (IND) vs. PHI 6
Ricky Rubio (MIN) vs. GS 5
Rajon Rondo (SAC) at CHI 5
Emmanuel Mudiay (DEN) at CLE 5

Augustin's salary is lower than Mudiay's, and he's been the more consistent DFS player. Hill's minutes are erratic and with the possible presence of Ty Lawson, he might get some rest. Still, the 76ers have difficulty defending point guards.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Darren Collison (SAC) at CHI 4
Brandon Jennings (ORL) at BOS 3
Marcus Smart (BOS) vs. ORL 3
Elfrid Payton (ORL) at BOS 2
Tony Parker (SA) at CHA 2

Neither Magic point guard is worth serious consideration. Payton's return could indicate less playing time for Jennings. Pair that with Boston's excellent defense in the backcourt, and it's a recipe for a letdown. Parker will have a big game on occasion, but he regularly disappoints. He's not worth the risk.
