Wednesday's Point Guard Value Rankings

Russ Isabella / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's point guard value rankings for Wednesday, March 23:

Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Shelvin Mack (UTA) at HOU 9
Brandon Knight (PHX) vs. LAL 9
Ricky Rubio (MIN) vs. SAC 8
Damian Lillard (POR) vs. DAL 8
Marcelo Huertas (LAL) at PHX 8
John Wall (WAS) vs. ATL 8
Stephen Curry (GS) vs. LAC 8
Chris Paul (LAC) at GS 8

On a 12-game slate, DFS players will need to decide which positions they want to roster stars at, and which spots they want to search for bargain plays.

Mack and Knight are reliable options who both sit in the mid-tier in terms of salary. They are strong cash-game plays with tournament upside Wednesday. Mack has strung together six solid games in a row and should make it seven against the lame Rockets defense.

Williams played 41 minutes and posted a season-high with 31 points and 16 assists Sunday. Without SF Chandler Parsons, the delicate PG could be in for a strong finish to the season.

The trio of Wall, Curry, and Paul are likely to be productive, but their respective high salaries always make returning immense value difficult. It is worth noting that Wall is coming off a 27-point, 14-assist performance against Atlanta and will get the Hawks once again in a home-and-home set.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
Jeff Teague (ATL) at WAS 7
Isaiah Thomas (BOS) vs. TOR 7
Kyle Lowry (TOR) at BOS 6
Rajon Rondo (SAC) at MIN 6
Darren Collison (SAC) at MIN 6
D.J. Augustin (DEN) vs. PHI 6

Teague is averaging 15 points and 7.3 assists over his last six games. He countered Wall's strong game in the first game of this home-and-home with 23 points and four assists of his own.

A pair of backup PGs in Collison and Augustin are worth consideration in enviable matchups. Their respective starting teammates, Rondo and Emmanuel Mudiay, have also been struggling of late.

Name Opposition Value
D'Angelo Russell (LAL) at PHX 5
Kyrie Irving (CLE) vs. MIL 5
Derrick Rose (CHI) vs. NY 5
Tony Parker (SA) vs. MIA 5
Ish Smith (PHI) at DEN 5
Reggie Jackson (DET) vs. ORL 5
Goran Dragic (MIA) at SA 5
Emmanuel Mudiay (DEN) vs. PHI 5
Isaiah Canaan (PHI) at DEN 5
Dennis Schroder (ATL) at WAS 5

Irving's play and salary have been dropping of late as the explosive guard has combined for 22 points and seven assists in his last two games. He makes for a viable contrarian play.

Dragic gets an awful matchup against San Antonio; however, he is averaging an impressive 16.8 points and nine assists over his last five games. Like Irving, he is a contrarian play.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opposition Value
Jordan Clarkson (LAL) at PHX 4
Jerryd Bayless (MIL) at CLE 4
Patrick Beverley (HOU) vs. UTA 4
Elfrid Payton (ORL) at DET 4
Marcus Smart (BOS) vs. TOR 3

Clarkson is best faded, as playing time and production are not guaranteed.
