Tuesday's Center Value Rankings
Here are theScore's winger value rankings for Tuesday, March 22:
Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Jason Spezza (DAL) | at CHI | 10 |
Jack Eichel (BUF) | at CAR | 9 |
Ryan Getzlaf (ANA) | at MTL | 9 |
Anze Kopitar (LA) | at MIN | 9 |
Brayden Schenn (PHI) | at CLB | 8 |
With Blackhawks G Corey Crawford on the shelf, it's prime time to take a member of the Stars. Good thing Spezza has been tearing it up. His salary hasn't risen to meet his recent production, either. If Eichel plays, he's a great GPP target against the Hurricanes. Kopitar has been converting at a higher clip, which has led to his six goals over 10 games. He also has seven assists in that time.
Best of the Rest
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Connor McDavid (EDM) | at ARI | 7 |
Joe Pavelski (SJ) | vs. STL | 7 |
Nicklas Backstrom (WAS) | at OTT | 7 |
Mark Scheifele (WPG) | vs. VAN | 7 |
Ryan Kesler (ANA) | at MTL | 7 |
Antoine Vermette (ARI) | vs. EDM | 7 |
Alex Galchenyuk (MTL) | vs. ANA | 7 |
McDavid is expensive despite not scoring as many goals as DFS owners would like. He's still the best choice in Edmonton and he might be a great option to thwart Coyotes G Mike Smith's recent success. Pavelski is the best offensive option in San Jose, but his salary is high enough to create hesitation.
Scheifele has gone three games without a point after the best seven games of his career. He could rebound, but the recent streak has him out of the top tier. Vermette is very inexpensive but has 10 points in 10 games. As a secondary option, DFS owners can't do much better, especially against the Oilers.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Claude Giroux (PHI) | at CLB | 6 |
Evgeny Kuznetsov (WAS) | at OTT | 6 |
Jeff Carter (LA) | at MIN | 6 |
Tyler Johnson (TB) | vs. DET | 6 |
Robby Fabbri (STL) | at SJ | 6 |
Cody Eakin (DAL) | at CHI | 6 |
There are less expensive options than Giroux from the Flyers, like Schenn or one of the wingers. Kuznetsov hasn't been returning the expected value recently. His ceiling prevents him from dropping much more.
Eakin would be higher if his recent uptick in points didn't seem slightly lucky. He's scored four goals on his last 13 shots. This is a much better success rate than he's ever seen. It can't last.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Steven Stamkos (TB) | vs. DET | 5 |
Pavel Datsyuk (DET) | at TB | 5 |
Jonathan Toews (CHI) | vs. DAL | 5 |
Charlie Coyle (MIN) | vs. LA | 5 |
Joe Thornton (SJ) | vs. STL | 5 |
Stamkos' salary is based entirely on who he has been in the past. He isn't scoring with the regularity DFS owners are used to. Neither are Datsyuk or Toews. Thornton tallies a bunch of points, but he needs to score more goals to be fully valuable on this large of a slate.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Logan Couture (SJ) | vs. STL | 4 |
Zack Smith (OTT) | vs. WAS | 4 |
Boone Jenner (CLB) | vs. PHI | 3 |
David Backes (STL) | at SJ | 3 |
Dylan Larkin (DET) | at TB | 3 |
Henrik Zetterberg (DET) | at TB | 2 |
Smith's jump in production could take a hit against the Capitals. He doesn't have a point in either of his two games against them this season.
