Tuesday's Winger Value Rankings
Here are theScore's Winger value rankings for Tuesday, March 22:
Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Jaden Schwartz (STL) | at SJ | 10 |
Cam Atkinson (CLB) | vs. PHI | 9 |
Jakub Voracek (PHI) | at CLB | 9 |
Jamie Benn (DAL) | at CHI | 8 |
Ondrej Palat (TB) | vs. DET | 8 |
Schwartz gets the top spot because his salary is still very low compared to his recent production. Atkinson comes in even cheaper, and he's spread out a cool six goals over his last 10 games. Voracek could very easily see a big jump in his ice time after easing back into playing. Palat comes at an inexplicable discount. Seriously. He should be among the most expensive and isn't.
Best of the Rest
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
T.J. Oshie (WAS) | at OTT | 7 |
Wayne Simmonds (PHI) | at CLB | 7 |
Nikita Kucherov (TB) | vs. DET | 7 |
Evander Kane (BUF) | at CAR | 7 |
Corey Perry (ANA) | at MTL | 7 |
Vladimir Tarasenko (STL) | at SJ | 7 |
Despite Voracek's return, Simmonds can be considered a secondary option. He's a little too pricey to fully endorse, however. The same goes for Kucherov. He's good, but is more expensive than the currently more productive Palat.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Patrick Kane (CHI) | vs. DAL | 6 |
Ryan O'Reilly (BUF) | at CAR | 6 |
Mark Stone (OTT) | vs. WAS | 6 |
Jeff Skinner (CAR) | vs. BUF | 6 |
Tomas Hertl (SJ) | vs. STL | 6 |
Unless Kane drills home a couple goals and takes a ton of shots, chances are he doesn't return value. Fortunately, the Stars have been allowing a lot of goals lately, not counting the 3-0 shutout of the Islanders on Saturday, of course. Stone is a bigger risk against Capitals G Braden Holtby than he normally is. His low salary makes him worth considering as a filler play with upside.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Alex Ovechkin (WAS) | at OTT | 5 |
Max Pacioretty (MTL) | vs. ANA | 5 |
Blake Wheeler (WPG) | vs. VAN | 5 |
Artemi Panarin (CHI) | vs. DAL | 5 |
Mike Hoffman (OTT) | vs. WAS | 5 |
Andrew Ladd (CHI) | vs. DAL | 5 |
Ovechkin, Pacioretty and Wheeler are all stumbling. Pacioretty is tallying helpers, but he has only one goal in 11 games. There are enough slightly cheaper options listed above that DFS owners can find value without spending up for the most expensive names. Their upsides are still real, though, so GPP value may be in the cards.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Patrick Sharp (DAL) | at CHI | 4 |
Taylor Hall (EDM) | at ARI | 4 |
Daniel Sedin (VAN) | at WPG | 3 |
Zach Parise (MIN) | vs. LA | 3 |
Patrick Marleau (SJ) | vs. STL | 2 |
Bobby Ryan (OTT) | vs. WAS | 2 |
These six just aren't providing the necessary returns. Until Hall and Parise see their salaries drop or production become more regular, they aren't worth selecting in DFS. Hall gets a slight boost because of the matchup, but Coyotes G Mike Smith has been playing very well since being activated.
