Wednesday's Power Foward Value Rankings
Here are theScore's power forward value rankings for Wednesday, March 23:

Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
DeMarcus Cousins (SAC) | at MIN | 9 |
Dirk Nowitzki (DAL) | at POR | 8 |
Cousins' upside is unmatched at the power forward position. However, he enters Wednesday's contest listed as questionable due to a bruised right knee. If he plays he gets a matchup against Minnesota's mediocre defense, against which he posted 24 points and 12 rebounds in their previous meeting.
Nowitzki has improved his play of late averaging 27.4 points and 7.4 rebounds over his last five games. Even better, he scored 40 against Portland in his most recent contest. With SF Chandler Parsons done for the season, Nowitzki will need to consistently post monster stat lines for the Mavericks to have a shot at securing a playoff spot.

Markieff Morris (WAS) | vs. ATL | 6 |
Gorgui Dieng (MIN) | vs. SAC | 6 |
Ed Davis (POR) | vs. DAL | 6 |
Love gets a bit of a favorable rank despite his recent poor play. With this dip in production and a missed game due to illness, Monday, Love's ownership levels should drop, Wednesday. In terms of his play, Love is averaging a respectable 15.6 points and 9.9 rebounds on the season, but those numbers drastically increase against his Wednesday opponent - Milwaukee.
In two games against the Bucks, Love has averaged 23 points and 14.5 rebounds. A performance of that nature would be greatly beneficial in cash or tournament play.
Johnson, an ex-Raptor, has posted two double-doubles in his last four games including another 18-point, eight-rebound performance. He has played between 25-34 minutes in each of those four and seems to be excelling in the absence of SF Jae Crowder.
Favors has a nice matchup against Houston, but he has posted only two double-doubles in his last 10. At his price, he is best reserved for tournament play in hopes that he grabs 10 or more boards.
Name | Opposition | Value |
---|---|---|
Kristaps Porzingis (NY) | at CHI | 5 |
Nerlens Noel (PHI) | at DEN | 5 |
David Lee (DAL) | at POR | 5 |
Jabari Parker (MIL) | at CLE | 5 |
Aaron Gordon (ORL) | at DET | 5 |
Kenneth Faried (DEN) | vs. PHI | 5 |
Channing Frye (CLE) | vs. MIL | 5 |
Nene Hilario (WAS) | vs. ATL | 5 |
Darrell Arthur (DEN) | vs. PHI | 5 |
Parker and Gordon have cooled off of late compared to the stretches when they were great mid-tier value plays. Neither is really worth rostering in either of their respective matchups.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opposition | Value |
---|---|---|
Carl Landry (PHI) | at DEN | 4 |
Nikola Mirotic (CHI) | vs. NY | 4 |
Jason Smith (ORL) | at DET | 4 |
Ersan Ilyasova (ORL) | at DET | 4 |
Bobby Portis (CHI) | vs. NY | 4 |
Mirotic has been volatile of late scoring anywhere from six points up to 17 over his last ten games. In a matchup against a Knicks team which ranks 11th in Opponent Points per Game and seventh in Opponent 3-point percentage, he is far too risky to roster.
