'We gave away the extra point,' says Flyers' Mason after stunning loss
The Philadelphia Flyers picked up an important point and moved into playoff position Tuesday night, but you wouldn't know it if you were in their dressing room after their game.
After blowing a 2-0 lead with 65 seconds to play against the Columbus Blue Jackets and eventually losing in a shootout, the mood in the room "was as down as I've ever seen it after a game in which (the Flyers) got a point," tweeted The Philadelphia Inquirer's Sam Carchidi.

If the Flyers miss the postseason, they'll remember this one. They're now 2-8 in shootouts, and have scored on only six of 35 opportunities.
Goaltender Steve Mason, starting for the second straight night, was superb, stopping a career-high 51 pucks, and four of five Columbus shooters in the skills competition. But it wasn't enough.
"We gave away the extra point," Mason said.
"It's frustrating," said Claude Giroux, who scored his 20th of the season in the game. "It wasn't our best game, but Mase ... that was Mase's game."
Philadelphia has a day off before continuing its road trip Thursday in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche. Mason will be back in net, with Michal Neuvirth injured. Mason stopped 74 of 77 shots Monday and Tuesday, and the Flyers picked up three out of four points.
But make no mistake, one got away.
