Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's shortstop value rankings for Monday, April 4:

Value Rankings
C | 1B | 2B | 3B | SS | OF | SP

Top Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Troy Tulowitzki (TOR) at TB 9
Elvis Andrus (TEX) vs. SEA 9
Brandon Crawford (SF) at MIL 8
Jed Lowrie (OAK) vs. CWS 8

Tulowitzki seems to be in midseason form already, hitting a home run in Sunday's game. He bats fifth in a loaded Blue Jays lineup that absolutely crushes lefties. Drew Smyly might have trouble sleeping Sunday night.

Andrus is one of the few players who have King Felix's number. The shortstop has a .295 average in 88 career at bats versus Hernandez.

Lowrie, a switch hitter, is much better from the right side. He's 6-for-14 off of Chris Sale in his career. He's projected to hit second in Oakland's lineup.

Mid-Tier Options

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
J.J. Hardy (BAL) vs. MIN 7
Corey Seager (LAD) at SD 7
Jean Segura (ARI) vs. COL 6
Eduardo Escobar (MIN) at BAL 6
Brad Miller (TB) vs. TOR 6
Addison Russell (CHC) at LAA 5
Eugenio Suarez (CIN) vs. PHI 5
Francisco Lindor (CLE) vs. BOS 5

Hardy is a mediocre 4-for-16 against Ervin Santana in his career, but half of those hits left the yard. He's a solid tournament option at a weak offensive position.

Nothing to See Here

NAME OPPONENT VALUE
Ian Desmond (TEX) vs. SEA 4
Ketel Marte (SEA) at TEX 3
Trevor Story (COL) at ARI 3
Andrelton Simmons (LAA) vs. CHC 3
Jimmy Rollins (CWS) at OAK 2
Alexei Ramirez (SD) vs. LAD 2
Erick Aybar (ATL) vs. WAS 2

Aybar is just 2-for-17 against Max Scherzer in his career.
