Maryland names Andy Buh defensive coordinator
Kentucky assistant Andy Buh is officially Maryland's new defensive coordinator, the Terps announced Tuesday.
Buh comes over after serving as the Wildcats outside linebackers coach for the 2015 season. He was recently promoted to special teams coordinator, as well as his previous position of outside linebackers coach.
The Wildcats released a statement Monday indicating Buh's resignation from his post in Lexington after it was reported that he had accepted the Maryland position.
"I want to thank Coach Buh for his work and his commitment to our program during his time here," head coach Mark Stoops said. "I have a lot of respect for Andy as he is extremely passionate and very detailed.
"There is no doubt he will have success as a defensive coordinator and I wish Andy and his family the best."
Prior to joining Kentucky, he held defensive coordinator positions at Cal, Nevada, and Stanford. Buh was on Jim Harbaugh's staff while with the Cardinals, alongside current Terps head coach DJ Durkin.
