Wednesday's Center Value Rankings
Here are the center value rankings for Wednesday, April 6:
Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
William Nylander (TOR) | vs. CLB | 10 |
Connor McDavid (EDM) | vs. VAN | 9 |
Claude Giroux (PHI) | at DET | 8 |
Nylander is one of the best tournament options on this three-game slate. With three multi-point games in his last nine and a spot on the Leafs' top power play unit, the rookie will have an opportunity to capitalize on Columbus' abhorrent 3.06 goals allowed per game.
Giroux has spread eight points over seven of his last 10 games. With 3.4 shots per game over that span and facing middling veteran goalie Jimmy Howard, he's a great high-end cash-game play that still maintains some tournament-upside.
Mid-Tier Targets
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Brandon Dubinsky (CLB) | at TOR | 7 |
Pavel Datsyuk (DET) | vs. PHI | 6 |
Henrik Zetterberg (DET) | vs. PHI | 5 |
Datsyuk has three goals and seven assists in his last 10 games, while Zetterberg has a goal and four assists. That rate of production is reflected in their salary figures, without leaving much room for a big disparity between price and expectations, so cash-game production seems likely.
Nothing to See Here
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (EDM) | vs. VAN | 3 |
Leon Draisaitl (EDM) | vs. VAN | 2 |
Henrik Sedin (VAN) | at EDM | 2 |
Sedin has just four assists and no goals in his last 10 games, and with just 17 total shots over that span the long-time Canuck has little to no floor. Like essentially every skater on this slate, he'll face weak goaltending; the difference is that other players have actually performed well of late.
