The Houston Texans are bringing in safety Earl Thomas for a workout, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

An agreement between the Texans and Thomas this week "is more likely than not," ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, citing a source.

The Baltimore Ravens released the veteran defender in August following an altercation with fellow safety Chuck Clark at practice. Thomas reportedly was "not well-liked" by his former Ravens teammates.

Thomas, 31, said he wished "things would have ended different" with Baltimore after the release.

The seven-time Pro Bowler racked up 49 tackles, two interceptions, and two sacks through 15 games in his lone season with Baltimore in 2019. The 2010 first-round pick helped the Seattle Seahawks win their first Super Bowl six years ago as a pivotal part of the team's Legion of Boom.

The Texans are off to a 0-3 start this season, and their defense has allowed a total of 95 points in that span - ranking 29th in the NFL. Houston, which has yet to record an interception in 2020, also ranks last in rushing yards allowed through the first three weeks.

The Dallas Cowboys were reportedly considered the front-runners to land Thomas upon his release from Baltimore.
