Furniture store offers same Super Bowl promotion that cost $600,000 last season

Prior to last year's Super Bowl, a local Baltimore furniture store offered a promotion that if either the opening kickoff or the kickoff to start the third quarter were returned for touchdowns, then customers would get free furniture.

Jacoby Jones' 108-yard kick return for a touchdown at the start of the third quarter ended up costing Gardiners Furniture about $600,000 in merchandise. Apparently they haven't learned their lesson.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Gardiners Furniture will offer the same promotion again this year, although it will only count if the opening kickoff is returned for a score.  Customers have until 3 p.m. Sunday to make a purchase and should that opening kickoff go for a touchdown, the purchase will be free.
