Report: Cardinals not planning to cut Daryl Washington
Mark J. Rebilas / USA TODAY Sports
Make no mistake about it, the Arizona Cardinals are upset and disappointed about linebacker Daryl Washington's suspension, punishment that will see him miss the entire 2014 season.
However, the Cardinals don't plan on releasing him, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.
Per Werder, the team activated Washington's $10-million option bonus in March, but haven't actually paid him any of it yet. If they release him they may not be able to retain part of that money.
Cutting him would also make Washington's cap acceleration around $7.5 million for the Cardinals, further complicating matters.
