Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel will make his NFL debut Saturday night against the Detroit Lions, but it will be Brian Hoyer handling the starting duties.
According to NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Manziel will get his chance to start when the Browns travel to Washington on Aug. 18.
Earlier Saturday, it was reported by MMQB's Peter King that Manziel was gaining ground on Hoyer in the Browns' starting quarterback competition, which head coach Mike Pettine is hoping to wrap up before the team's third preseason game.
