Vikings coordinator Mike Priefer says he's 'a better man' due to sensitivity training
Minnesota Vikings special teams coordinator Mike Priefer was reinstated by the team Monday after undergoing sensitivity training.
Priefer was issued a three-game suspension after it was revealed that he made homophobic remarks during his tenure with the club.
On Thursday, Priefer reflected upon his time off.
"I don’t know if I’ve changed, but I think I have more awareness of my surroundings and other people around me," Priefer said to Mark Craig of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
“I think I’m a better man because of it."
The Vikings went 1-1 in Priefer's absence, routing the Rams 34-6 in Week 1, before losing 30-7 to the Patriots in Week 2.
"The situation is a dead issue and it’s time to move on. I know it was hard for (the players).
"I apologized to them because of what I basically put them through being away for two weeks. But now it’s time to improve and get better. We have a lot of work to do.”
Priefer's Vikings play the New Orleans Saints in Week 3.
