Texans' Clowney: 'I think I’ll be back in a few weeks'

Jadeveon Clowney is itching to get back to the field so he can live within the dark recesses of opposing quarterbacks' nightmares.

"I talk to the guys every day. I’m like, 'Man, I’m kind of upset I ain’t getting to play with you guys right now,'" Clowney told The Houston Chronicle Monday.

The first overall pick in this year's draft tore his meniscus during the Texans' Week 1 win over the Washington Redskins, and was expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks.

Clowney's rehabilitation seems to be on schedule, and he recently began jogging.

“Everything is starting to come along just like I want it to. … I think I’ll be back in a few weeks - that’s the goal,” Clowney said.

“Right now I’m just taking it day by day, just trying to get back healthy. Rehab is coming along good. My leg feels a lot better. I’m just taking it a day at a time right now.”

Clowney may not be able to wrangle a quarterback just yet, but his hula hoop game is tight.
