Panthers' Cam Newton: Pulled teeth 'kicking me in the nuts'
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton didn't end up on any injury lists, but the Auburn product did undergo surgery early in the week.
"I had my wisdom teeth taken out," Newton said, via ESPN. "I've been under the scope so much this ... season, I guess it's just catching up with me."
Newton underwent surgery on his ankle in March and suffered fractured ribs in August, but having his four wisdom teeth removed was as painful as any of that.
"It's been kind of kicking me in the nuts with the hurting, but it'll be all right," Newton said.
Newton didn't seem bothered on the field as he completed 19 of his 35 pass attempts for 255 yards and two touchdowns in Carolina's 31-24 win.
"Cam Newton probable for next week," he said. "That's all right. We got a great win today."
