Texans' O'Brien on Clowney: 'He’s got a good shot to play on Sunday'

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It's looking more and more like Jadeveon Clowney will suit up on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

"I thought he did what he had to do this week," Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien told the team's official website. "I think he’s got a good shot to play on Sunday.”

The 2014 first-overall pick, who hasn't played since tearing his lateral meniscus during a Week 1 victory over the Washington Redskins, practiced on a limited basis for the third consecutive day on Friday.

Though Clowney may be itching to make an immediate impact upon his return, O'Brien made it clear that the rookie linebacker will be eased back into action.

"Our thing is I don’t see him playing 75 plays in the game," O'Brien said. "That would be the thing. He’s probably got somewhat of a pitch count.”
