Report: Patriots' Jonas Gray sent home from practice after showing up late

Thomas J. Russo / USA TODAY Sports

If you show up to New England Patriots practice late, Bill Belichick will send you home. It doesn't matter if you're Darrelle Revis, who was told to stay at home after oversleeping earlier this season, or a young running back who's still carving out a role for himself.

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Jonas Gray was sent home after arriving at Gillette Stadium behind schedule Friday.

It sounds like it was an honest mistake:

It's unclear what, if any, impact this will have on Gray's standing with the team moving forward. Gray was a monster in Week 11, topping 200 yards and four touchdowns in the Patriots' blowout win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Patriots just signed LeGarrette Blount, a bruising runner in a similar mold to Gray, so Gray can't feel great about his status.
