Lions exercise Riley Reiff's 5th-year contract option
After a productive start to his NFL career, offensive tackle Riley Reiff appears set to remain in a Detroit Lions uniform through the 2016 season.
Speaking at a predraft press conference Friday, general manager Martin Mayhew indicated that he is pleased with Reiff's performance at left tackle and that the team will indeed pick up his fifth-year contract option ahead of the May 3 deadline.
Mayhew said he's very comfortable with Reiff at left tackle and thinks he's a very good player. Team is picking up his 5th-year option.

Reiff joined the Lions as a first-round selection in 2012 and started eight games as a rookie before going on to earn the full-time job at left tackle over the next two seasons.
The offensive line certainly remains an area of need for the Lions heading into next week's draft, but Reiff gives the unit a solid player on the quarterback's blind side to build around long-term.
