Report: Dolphins players concerned about guard situation

The Miami Dolphins are set with Branden Albert at left tackle, Ja'Wuan James at right tackle, and Mike Pouncey at center, but there are some big question marks elsewhere on the offensive line.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that Dolphins players are clearly concerned about the situation at guard, where no one has been able to secure a starting job. Fourth-round pick Jamil Douglas, whom Jackson said has had some good moments, Billy Turner, and Dallas Thomas are among those in the mix.

Another option would be to look for outside help. The Dolphins are rumored to have shown an interest in Pro Bowl guard Evan Mathis, and while he won't come cheap, he would help alleviate some of the concerns at the position.

Mathis's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun Sentinel in June that there were 10 teams courting his client and that they're prepared to be patient.
